One simple prayer that has changed my life!

“Lord heal my soul”, it seems like such a simple prayer, but it has moved mountains!

On the mornings that are not too crazy and the kids are occupied for the 5-10 minutes of priceless mommy time, I delve into my  Joyce Meyer devotional app on my phone while I eat my breakfast.

It’s then when Joyce simply recommended asking the Lord to heal your soul.

I thought to myself , ‘Heal my soul?

I didn’t quite understand what that meant.  So I read on, ” As your soul is made up of our will, our feelings, and our emotions… and many times we can harbor negative emotions that really block our ability to give grace to others and even heal.”

This made some sense – our soul is our thoughts, feelings, and emotions – that’s a potent combination! So I began to think on that when I could.

When I’m not sure of something I’ll just begin to pray and ask God to show me what I need to work on or if I am harboring negative emotions.  Warning! When praying those types of prayers, be forewarned , it is very humbling and sometimes hard to absorb! With time though it is well worth it!

God showed me how I had been  harboring jealousy and bitterness toward some people in my life, so I prayed that He would heal me of that, and it’s a work in progress but it’s been very freeing! The weird part about it is it was something I really was not aware of but still something that was affecting me greatly! I guess that is the scarey part about negative emotions and the devil and his sneaky schemes.

It’s amazing the difference in my thought patterns now! Instead of falling into a negative self talk, without even realizing I was doing it, God really showed me and healed me of them. Lifting me above the yuck that was dragging me down. :) Pretty awesome! Now don’t get me wrong, I still have those days that can be hard, but I feel I have a secret weapon to rise above it.

So I encourage you, when you wake up in the morning say this simple prayer, as it can heal your soul!

But remember what it says in Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Be blessed today!
