Dr. JoJo Yonce
Dr. Yonce’s journey into the world of neurotherapy began when his daughter was experiencing Learning Challenges and was ultimately diagnosed with ADHD. After exploring traditional medical options and finding them lacking, he became determined to find a safer, non-invasive, and drug-free approach to support her. His search led him to neurofeedback, a powerful therapy backed by over five decades of scientific research showing its effectiveness.
Witnessing firsthand the transformative impact neurofeedback had on his daughter’s life – and his family’s – Dr. Yonce’s passion for this work deepened. He felt called to share this breakthrough with his community, especially as a viable alternative for children struggling with similar challenges. As a result, he shifted his practice focus to bring this cutting-edge technology to others.
While his initial focus was on helping children, Dr. Yonce soon discovered that neurofeedback was beneficial for people of all ages, from adolescents to adults and even seniors. Today, nearly half of his clients are adults seeking to improve their cognitive health, reduce anxiety and depression, and recover from head injuries. He now utilizes neurofeedback alongside over 20 other neuro-therapies within his comprehensive “Functional Neuro Programs.”
Dr. Yonce is excited to collaborate with Dr. Michelle Dillon and Charlotte Natural Wellness to bring these powerful therapies to the Charlotte community. With a Doctorate from Sherman College of Chiropractic (1998), certifications in Neurofeedback (BCIA Board Certified), Childhood Neurodevelopment (Melillo Method Certified), and Functional Medicine Hyperbaric (International Board of Undersea Medicine), Dr. Yonce offers a holistic and integrative approach to brain health – dedicated to helping individuals of all ages reach their full potential and thrive.
Dr. Yonce is a proud father of three daughters and lives in Columbus, NC, with his wife, Suelin. He enjoys supporting his wife behind the scenes in her business, which is breeding and training English Cream Golden Retrievers to possibly become therapy dogs. One of these remarkable dogs, “Dr. Addie,” is even part of his practice, serving as his therapy dog in his Asheville office. The Yonce family’s passion for animals and healing extends far beyond their personal lives, with a deep commitment to supporting emotional well-being through both human and animal connections.
